In Memory of the Honorable Christine C. Antoun

CWBA is deeply saddened by the news of the Honorable Christine C. Antoun’s passing on May 25, 2024. Judge Antoun was a former fellow CWBA member and served as Denver District Court Judge from November of 2020 until her death. Below is her obituary as posted on Everlove.com.

Christine Catherine Antoun passed away on May 25th, 2024 at the age of 52. Born June 18th, 1971 in Port Chester, NY, Christine moved to Fairfax, VA at the age 4 with her parents Margaret and Adel where she spent the next twenty plus years of her life. Christine graduated high school from Flint Hill Preparatory School in 1989, where she was an avid lacrosse player, eventually going on to coach in later years. She went on to attend college at George Mason University in her home town of Fairfax, before receiving her law degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA.
Christine moved to Denver, Colorado in 1997, where she started her law career as a public defender. A fierce advocate for justice, particularly for the underserved, she eventually began her own private practice as a defense attorney for the next two decades. She earned a reputation for being tenacious in the courtroom, and established a broad network of colleagues and friends in the law community who not only admired her for her work, but for her incredibly generous, fun, and exciting personality. In November 2020, Christine was appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis as a Denver District Judge, serving her community honorably and fulfilling her dream until her passing.
Though she had an amazing and exemplary career serving her community and her clients for more than 20 years, Christine will be remembered for far more than her work. Not one to ever let anything stand in the way of her goals, Christine pursued countless hobbies and achievements: A marathon runner, beekeeper, Roller Derby enthusiast, artist, pianist, and champion pie baker, she never met a hobby she did not excel at. Her talents were felt and tasted in every holiday pie she baked, every jar of honey she hand-delivered to her friends and family, and every laugh she provoked from everyone she met along her journey.
Christine is survived by her two sons whom she adored, Michael (17) and James (14), and by her parents Margaret and Adel, brother Ramsey, sister-in-law Stephanie, nephew Elliott (13), nieces Caroline (11) and Josephine (8), and lifelong friends whom she considered sisters, Linda and Stacy. She will be forever loved and adored by the countless people who were able to call her friend along the way. Teeny, you will be so, so missed.
