  • CWBA Board Member Magistrate Michal-Lord Blegen was appointed as a magistrate for the 17th Judicial District.

  • Emily Lieberman was appointed to the 17th Judicial District Court.

  • Magistrate Pax Moultrie was appointed to the Denver Juvenile Court.

YOU WERE RECOGNIZED

  • Theresa Wardon Benz was awarded the 2019 Davis Award from the DBA. The award recognizes attorneys “under the age of 40 who have demonstrated excellence as a lawyer and leadership in Denver’s civic, educational, and charitable activities.”

  • Hon. Christine Arguello received the DBA Award of Merit. The award recognizes “outstanding contributions made by a DBA member to the DBA and the profession.”

  • CWBA 2020 Mary Lathrop Trailblazer Honoree Velveta Golightly-Howell was inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame Class of 2020.

  • Katy Lum was recognized by Metro Volunteer Lawyers for her work as a Post Decree Consultation Program volunteer.

  • CWBA Past President Patricia Jarzobski and CWBA Board Member Hetal Doshi received the Inclusiveness@Work Award from the Center for Legal Inclusiveness.

  • Laura Wolf was named the CBA YLD Gary McPherson Outstanding Young Lawyer of Year. Laura also started a new firm, Wolf Guerava LLP. CWBA Secretary Jennifer Carty was a finalist for the award.

  • CWBA Past President Hon. Theresa Spahn will be honored at the Colorado Judicial Institute’s 18th Annual Judicial Excellence Awards Oct. 7.

  • Ellie Lockwood was selected as a 2020 Top Women Lawyer by Law Week Colorado.

  • Sonia Ramirez Anderson has been named a 2020 Pro Bono Star by the Denver Bar Association.

  • Cierra Garso has joined Robinson and Henry, P.C.

  • CWBA Past President Jessica Brown began her term as president of the CBA.

  • Hon. Jaclyn Casey Brown, CWBA Board Member Ruchi Kapoor, Christine Kroupa, Brittany Limes, Nicoal Sperraza, and CWBA Past President Wendy Weigler were nominated to the DBA Board of Governors.

  • CWBA Board Member Kathryn Starnella was elected July 31, 2020 to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors for the National Conference of Women's Bar Associations as the CWBA representative.

  • Robyn Clarke and Karen Hen are members of the first advisory board to the CBA YLD Executive Council.
